Her visit to Ghana was part of a fact-finding and diplomatic mission commissioned by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This comes in the wake of recent tensions sparked by controversial remarks made by Nigerian national Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, who had presented himself as an Igbo King in Ghana.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Hon. Ablakwa clarified that the Nigerian government does not support or condone the divisive comments made by Mr. Ihenetu.

Both Ghana and Nigeria reaffirmed their deep-rooted and historically close relationship, expressing a united commitment to ensuring that this incident does not undermine their longstanding friendship.
Minister Odumegwu-Ojukwu extended her appreciation to President Mahama, the Ghanaian government, and the people of Ghana for the maturity and restraint shown in response, which helped prevent the situation from escalating.
She further conveyed President Tinubu’s assurance that the Nigerian government remains committed to the safety and well-being of Ghanaians living in Nigeria.
Ghana and Nigeria continue to value their enduring and mutually respectful relationship, built on shared history and strong diplomatic ties.
