Ashanti regional Chairman of United Zongo for Bawumia, Alhaji Abdul Aziz says he senses a possible take over of Ghana by foreign nationals within the next 20 years premised on the influx of their transition into the country.

The feeble nature of Ghana’s borders and border crossing has now made the country a habitation for irregular immigrants who are walking freely and engaging all manner of activities in Ghana without any  residential permit or document.
He lamented in an interview with this paper, disclosing that areas in Ashanti region including Asawasi, Aboabo, Antoa are now heavily occupied by Fulanis and Gaos, adding that the population of Nigerians in Ghana will one day come close to that of the true citizen in Ashanti region.
“I fear for the security of this country because looking at how these foreigners are entering our country especially the Fulanis, if we are not careful they will take over and we would not be able to handle them”.
Alhaji Abdul Aziz  therefore challenged government to effect measure that will properly regulate and monitor their movement and operations in the country.
He also added that government should promote lawful entry and exit by protecting the various borders from becoming channels for improper migration.
