The Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, has commissioned a newly completed 400-bed dormitory block and a 24-seater toilet facility for Kumasi Academy, marking a major milestone in efforts to improve educational infrastructure within the Asokore Mampong Municipality.

The commissioning ceremony, held yesterday, brought together key stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive for the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, the Municipal Director of Education, traditional leaders, school authorities, and community members.

Hon. Muntaka Mubarak expressed deep personal fulfillment at the completion of the project, noting that the initiative began twelve years ago under his leadership to address the school’s pressing accommodation challenges.
According to him, the vision behind the project was to create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning while reducing congestion in the school’s boarding facilities. Despite delays caused by unforeseen circumstances, he emphasized that the commitment to the project never wavered.

“It is a moment of great fulfillment to witness its completion and commissioning today,” he said. “These facilities will not only reduce congestion but also promote discipline, enhance comfort, and improve academic productivity for the students of Kumasi Academy.”
Hon. Mubarak lauded the collaborative effort that ensured the project’s completion, extending appreciation to traditional leaders, school management, the Municipal Assembly, the contractor, and all individuals who contributed.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to advancing educational development in the municipality, stressing that investing in infrastructure is key to securing a stronger future for the younger generation.
The newly commissioned facilities are expected to significantly boost the school’s capacity and contribute to a more supportive academic environment for students.
