Maverick politician Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has rubbished the politicization of the handling of the welfare of traders whose businesses were affected by the recent fire outbreak
at Adum blue light in Kumasi.
He has also kicked against the open display of zero courtesy towards authorities in the region by some politicians who visited the fire scene to commiserate with traders.
Outspoken Ken few days after arriving from the United States of America inspected the devastated area on Saturday.
Addressing a gathering of affected business men and women, he said politicizing disasters of such nature is immaterial.
Though a strong member of the opposition NPP, he said he paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene even before visiting the scene.
“The Regional Minister on his part also delegated his spokesperson to join us here.
This is how governance is run”, he said.
He told the crowd that his visit to Adum blue light was not premised on the political affiliation of the traders.
“Wether they belong to NPP or NDC, they are all Ghanaians”, he stated.
After making the above admonishing, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong donated a physical cash of GHs 100,000 and 200 street light bulbs to the traders to support the rebuilding of the area.
Regional Minister’s Remarks
The Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene remarked on his official Facebook page after the courtesy call paid on him by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong.
He scribbled: “Today, I received Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and his team at the ARCC as he came to offer support to victims of the Adum PZ fire.
