Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, praising his unwavering dedication to public service and the nation.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Ablakwa expressed deep sorrow over the diplomat’s passing, describing him as a man whose “extraordinary commitment to public service” earned widespread admiration and national recognition.

“Rest well Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley,” the post began.
“Yours was an extraordinary commitment to public service where you excelled to the admiration of all.”

Ablakwa noted that Yalley’s legacy of excellence was so impactful that former President John Mahama nominated him a second time to serve as Ambassador — a rare honor that reflected the trust and confidence reposed in his leadership. Sadly, the Minister said, “the Almighty had other plans.”

He concluded the tribute with the words, “Our loss, Heaven’s gain,” underscoring the national grief over the diplomat’s departure and the belief that his soul now rests in eternal peace.

Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley previously served in various key roles in Ghana’s public sector, including as Ghana’s Ambassador to India and CEO of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA).

His passing marks the end of a distinguished career that touched many lives both in Ghana and abroad.

Tributes have continued to pour in from across the country as the nation mourns the loss of one of its devoted statesmen.
