In a shocking revelation that has sparked widespread outrage, Hon. Hannah Bissiw, the National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused journalist and Good Evening Ghana host, Paul Adom-Otchere, of making inappropriate advances toward her.
Speaking candidly in a recent interview, Hon. Bissiw detailed a disturbing encounter with Adom-Otchere that has left many Ghanaians appalled. “So there was the need to meet Paul Adom-Otchere and talk about political issues,” she began. “I called him to find out whether he was around, and he said he would be available one evening. I told him I would come to his place to discuss the matter.”
However, the conversation took an unexpected and inappropriate turn. “Paul, with no sense of shame, told me that I should come to his place so that he could romance me,” she alleged. “I told him, ‘Don’t joke with me. How dare you? Do you think I’m a child? I’m a 52-year-old married woman. You cannot say this to me.’”
The incident has sparked outrage across the country, with many questioning the professional ethics of Adom-Otchere, who has long been a prominent figure in Ghanaian journalism. Hon. Bissiw, who has been vocal about her struggles and sacrifices in the political arena, did not mince words about her resolve to hold Adom-Otchere accountable.
“I’m the NDC National Women’s Organizer. I have been slapped because of politics, and I have also slapped someone because of politics. You cannot threaten me with dirty comments,” she said.
She further alleged that Paul Adom-Otchere has since fled Ghana following the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss of power, claiming he is now hiding in London. “Now Paul has run away, but I will make sure that Interpol arrests him from his hideout in London,” she declared.
The accusations have reignited conversations about the treatment of women in politics and media, with many calling for a thorough investigation. While Adom-Otchere is yet to respond to the allegations, Ghanaians are demanding accountability and justice for what is seen as a grave abuse of power.
