In a somber and deeply emotional moment, the CEO of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel McKorley has visited the family home of Sgt. Ernest Addo Mensah, one of the eight souls tragically lost in last Wednesday’s fatal military helicopter crash in Adanse.

Dr. McKorley, widely known not just for his business acumen but his personal warmth described Sgt. Addo as more than a colleague or professional associate. “He was a brother,” McDan said, his voice heavy with grief.

Recalling their cherished moments together, he shared a poignant memory:

“When I purchased my first private helicopter, he was one of the first people I called to inspect it. That’s how much I trusted him.”
The visit to the clan house, Nii Nyanyo Abentia We, was marked by tears, solemn reflection, and a powerful sense of loss. Dr. McKorley signed the condolence book with a heartfelt message:

“Rest in perfect peace, brother and friend. May the good Lord keep you in a peaceful state till we meet in His kingdom.”
The Adanse crash, which has plunged the nation into mourning, claimed the lives of eight distinguished individuals, including two prominent state officials: Dr. Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology and MP for Tamale Central, and Alhaji Mohammed Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator. The two have since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
Sgt. Addo and the remaining five victims will be laid to rest on Friday, August 15, 2025, per official government announcement.
As investigations continue into what led to the tragic accident, the loss reverberates far beyond military and political circles—touching hearts across the nation and reminding all of life’s fleeting nature.
For McDan and countless others, the death of Sgt. Addo is not just a national tragedy, it is a personal loss that has left a void no rank or title can ever fill.
