In a moment that turned heads and sparked conversation, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was seen seated comfortably between two leading figures of the rival National Democratic Congress (NDC); National Chairman Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George.

The scene unfolded at a Thanksgiving Service organised to celebrate the appointment of Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror as Clerk to Parliament.

But beyond the purpose of the gathering, it was the striking image of political heavyweights from opposite ends of Ghana’s political divide sharing warm exchanges and visible excitement that stole the spotlight.

Eyewitnesses described an atmosphere charged not with rivalry, but with camaraderie.

Smiles were exchanged, light-hearted conversations flowed, and the trio appeared fully engaged in the celebration; a powerful contrast to the often heated political rhetoric that characterises partisan politics.

The event, which also drew the Speaker of Parliament, the Chief Justice, Members of Parliament, and other dignitaries, became more than a ceremonial thanksgiving.

It evolved into a vivid tableau of democratic maturity, a reminder that even the fiercest political opponents can unite in moments of national significance.

Hon. Asenso-Boakye, MP for Bantama Constituency later expressed his honour at being part of the occasion via his official Facebook page and offered prayers for God’s guidance, wisdom, and strength for the newly appointed Clerk as he assumes office.

In a country where politics can be intensely competitive, the image of Asenso-Boakye, Asiedu Nketia, and Sam George seated side by side delivered a sensational yet reassuring message: Ghana’s democracy remains strong enough to accommodate both competition and cooperation.
