Her Excellency Sabah Zita Benson on Tuesday received the leadership of the Gonjaland Union UK at the Ghana High Commission in London, marking a formal welcome to the United Kingdom and an opportunity to strengthen collaboration on consular, welfare, and community-related matters.

During the meeting, the Gonjaland Union UK provided updates on its annual development initiatives in Ghana’s Savannah Region, highlighting ongoing efforts to support community development.

Her Excellency commended the Union for its commitment and contributions, and outlined plans for a youth-focused programme aimed at promoting Ghanaian cultural values and addressing issues of juvenile delinquency among the diaspora.

Later the same day, Her Excellency held discussions with the Federation of Muslim Women Associations, led by Dr HRH Saraunia Hajia Hajara.

The engagement focused on enhancing cooperation between the Mission and the Association, with particular attention to consular services and challenges faced by Ghanaian Muslims in acquiring passports.

Her Excellency reaffirmed the Mission’s commitment to addressing the concerns raised, assuring that consular staff would be engaged to improve service delivery.

She also encouraged applicants to ensure the submission of complete and accurate supporting documentation to facilitate smoother processing, while underscoring the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration with the Association.

The meetings formed part of Her Excellency’s ongoing engagements with Ghanaian community groups in the United Kingdom, aimed at strengthening partnerships and improving services to Ghanaians in the diaspora.
