Ghana has strengthened its position on the global digital stage following a successful week of high-level diplomatic and technological engagements led by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George.

In a statement shared on his official platform, the Minister described the past week as “tough, demanding but superbly rewarding,” as he spearheaded critical international missions that culminated in Ghana’s re-election to two major global bodies in the communications and cybersecurity space.

Ghana has retained its seat as Chair of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA) and secured re-election to the Council of Administration of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). These successes were achieved through diplomatic efforts supported by Ghana’s missions in Rabat and Dubai, as well as strategic engagements in Japan and China.

“These positions not only reflect Ghana’s growing leadership in the global digital landscape but also unlock new strategic partnerships aimed at boosting our sector,” Minister George stated.

He noted that the partnerships secured will “avail our critical stakeholders of cutting-edge technology and support systems,” emphasizing the government’s commitment to leveraging international cooperation for national digital advancement.
The Minister extended special commendation to the Cyber Security Authority Ghana and Ghana Post, as well as the Candidatures Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, for their roles in delivering the successful outcomes.
This latest development underscores Ghana’s continued ambition to be a digital leader on the African continent and a trusted partner in global ICT governance.
“For God and Country,” the Minister concluded.
