Ghana’s Vice President, Prof. Jane Nana Opoku-Agyemang welcomed delegates from over 30 countries to Accra for the 2025 African Political Parties Summit on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.
This 3-day summit brings together sitting heads of state, ministers, former presidents, statesmen, academics, civil society, and global partners to dialogue on our vision as a continent.

The summit will culminate in the adoption of the African Political Parties Initiative (APPI), a platform for dialogue, dispute resolution, and joint action towards our peace, unity, and prosperity.

Sharing her remarks on her official Facebook page, the Vice President said the theme- “From Politics to Prosperity: Strengthening Inter-Party Collaboration for Africa’s Development and Economic Transformation,” reminds Ghana that politics must deliver concrete outcomes for our people, and not empty rhetoric.

“We must rise above narrow interests, safeguard election stability, protect long-term development plans, and work together across borders to tackle the threats that affect our continent”, she wrote on her page.
