Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has described a recent bilateral meeting with his Finnish counterpart, Her Excellency Elina Valtonen, as “very fruitful and substantive.”

The diplomatic engagement took place on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly in New York.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Hon. Ablakwa revealed that discussions focused on strengthening cooperation across several key sectors, including trade, STEM education, agriculture, intelligence sharing, scholarships, and mutual support for international candidatures.

“Ghana deeply values our strong relations with the Finnish people,” the Minister stated, underscoring the importance of the long-standing partnership between the two nations.

He expressed optimism about the future of Ghana-Finland relations, affirming that, “We shall accomplish more together.”

The meeting reflects Ghana’s broader diplomatic agenda of building strategic partnerships to drive economic growth, technological advancement, and global cooperation.
