Former President Nana Addo Dankwa has paid a solemn visit to the residence of late Ghanaian music legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, to commiserate with his family and honor the memory of the iconic musician.

In the company of former Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Minority Leader Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and several former New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials and Members of Parliament, Akufo-Addo signed the book of condolence and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family.

“Daddy Lumba was one of the greatest artists and musicians our country Ghana has produced and to whose genius and work I shall be forever grateful,” the former President said in a statement shared on his official Facebook page shortly after his visit.

The former leader further extended his condolences to the family of Kwasi Amoako-Attah, the former Minister for Roads and Highways, following the passing of his wife, Mrs. Gloria Amoako-Attah. Akufo-Addo visited the family to offer support and solidarity during their time of loss.
The passing of Daddy Lumba marks the end of an era for Ghanaian highlife music. With a career spanning decades, his legacy as a trailblazer and cultural icon continues to resonate with generations of Ghanaians.

Akufo-Addo’s visits underscore the strong personal and national bonds forged over years of public service, culture, and shared loss. The nation joins him in mourning two significant departures from Ghana’s public and cultural life.
