The leadership of The Word of Truth and Prayers (TWOTAP) Ministry, a charismatic Christian denomination in Ghana, has launched a social intervention programme aimed at supporting widows and orphans within the Christian community.

The initiative, dubbed “Care for Widows and Orphans,” seeks to provide monthly financial assistance to 2,000 Christian widows and orphans, each receiving GH¢400.

In total, the ministry will commit GH¢800,000 every month to the programme.
The initiative, which covers both members of TWOTAP and non-members who are Christians, was officially launched on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at a press briefing held in Kumasi.

Addressing journalists, the Founder and General Overseer of TWOTAP Ministry, Evangelist Francis Awusi, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Holy TV; a media outlet affiliated with the ministry said the initiative is intended to ease the economic burden on vulnerable persons and help them feel supported in their spiritual walk with God.

According to him, the programme also seeks to demonstrate that the Church exists to support believers and communities, contrary to perceptions by critics that church activities are meant primarily to enrich religious leaders.
Evangelist Awusi further noted that beyond the financial support, implementers of the initiative would periodically monitor the spiritual growth and wellbeing of beneficiaries.
He explained that the move was in obedience to a divine instruction he received last year.
“I received a command from God to take care of 2,000 Christians who are widows and orphans,” he said.
The TWOTAP leader used the occasion to appeal to individuals and institutions to contribute towards sustaining the initiative, stressing the need for collective support for the vulnerable in society.
“There is more blessing in giving than in receiving. Many people are in difficult situations, and we must all help to support them,” he added.
