The Member of Parliament for Subin, Lawyer Kofi Obiri Yeboah, has pledged to ensure that all traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at the Anloga Market (Anwonadwom) at Afful Nkwanta regain their shops once the market is reconstructed.

The MP made the pledge yesterday during a visit to the market, where he assessed the damage caused by the fire, which destroyed several commercial shops and large quantities of goods belonging to traders.

Many traders were left in shock and mourning after losing their livelihoods in the devastating blaze.
Lawyer Obiri Yeboah described the incident as a “painful and tragic loss” for traders who depend on the market for their daily sustenance.

He assured them that the reconstruction process would not be politicised and that every affected trader would have the opportunity to return to their original shops.
During the visit, the MP also called on President John Dramani Mahama to provide urgent support to the victims to help them rebuild their businesses and recover from their losses.
He highlighted the importance of government intervention in restoring hope to those whose livelihoods were destroyed.
In addition, the MP pledged to lobby for further assistance for the affected traders, drawing on his experience from last year when he secured support for traders whose shops and businesses were destroyed by fire at the Adum–Blue Light area.
He also encouraged traders whose shops were spared by the fire to remain vigilant and adopt safety measures to prevent future incidents.
After the MP addressed the affected traders, the Assembly Woman for the Amakom Electoral Area, Madam Doris Okyere Darko, expressed her appreciation for his visit and his commitment to supporting the victims. She described his presence as “a source of comfort to traders during this difficult time” and urged collective efforts to ensure the market’s speedy reconstruction and the full restoration of livelihoods.
Lawyer Obiri Yeboah’s visit comes amid growing concerns over market safety and fire prevention in the region.
His intervention has been widely welcomed by traders and residents, many of whom expressed hope that the market would be rebuilt quickly and that lessons would be learned to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
