Kofi Job, a Ghanaian road construction contractor and philanthropist has paid GHs1,000,000 to clear medical bills of 213 patients in Kumasi.

Same also covered monies needed for the repair and purchase of health equipment.

The move was carried out under the umbrella of Kofi Job Foundation.

Beneficiary institutions were the Kumasi South Hospital, Old Tafo Government hospital and the Manhyia District Hospital.

The renowned philanthropist visited the patients on Wednesday and paid the bills in cash directly to management of each hospital.

Aside those on admission, some new arrivals who chanced on him at the forecourt of the various hospitals and pleaded on him for same support were not ignored by the fabulously rich road contractor.

He gave some GHs 3,000 and GHs 2,000 for the purchase of prescribed drugs and other expenses.

At the Kumasi South Hospital, he foot a bill of GHs 120,000 needed for chemotherapy and surgery of two children suffering from a cancerous condition (renal cancer and Retinoblastoma).

Accompanying him were his wife Dr. Esther Gyebi, Archbishop Akwasi Asare Bediako of Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministry and other eminent clergy of Upper Room Assemblies of God church.

Addition to the monetary support, Kofi Job who is also an Evangelist joined forces with the clergy and offered prayers for the sick.

He shared with newsmen how saddened he was after seeing their condition and realising that a number of them are unable to make payment of their medical expenses, saying “I have realised that the cause of the number of deaths at our hospitals partly has to do with poverty”.

“I’m so much saddened and my prayer is that God should keep blessing me so that I can continue with my support to needy.”

He said regarding support to humanity, government cannot do it all alone.

He therefore called on institutions and individuals to support the vulnerable with the little resources they have.

At the Kumasi South Hospital, Dr. Alimatu Salam (Pediatrics Oncologist) thanked Kofi job for the general support.

“We really appreciate what he has done and we pray that whatever he has contributed will be increased by God in a thousand fold”.
