Ghana’s Minister for Energy, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, has welcomed the newly appointed Managing Director of the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), Mr. Abiodun Bodunrin, during a courtesy visit to his office in Accra.

The meeting, which was confirmed via a statement on the Minister’s official Facebook page, marks the first high-level engagement between Ghana’s energy leadership and WAPCo’s new management following the recent leadership change at the company. Mr. Bodunrin succeeds Ms. Michelle Burket in the role.

During the engagement, both parties discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on WAPCo’s critical role in the sub-region’s energy infrastructure and the company’s continued collaboration with Ghana to achieve national energy sector objectives.

Minister Jinapor emphasized the importance of WAPCo’s partnership in Ghana’s energy future, while WAPCo, in turn, reaffirmed its ongoing support for the country’s energy sector ambitions.

The West African Gas Pipeline Company plays a key role in transporting natural gas across the sub-region, contributing significantly to energy security and power generation in Ghana and its neighboring countries.
