Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Presidential Envoy in charge of Inter-faith and Ecumenical Bodies, represented former President John Dramani Mahama at the 60th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service of the Bible Society of Ghana.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Mr. Ankrah expressed his honour in standing in for the former president at the landmark event, which celebrated six decades of the Society’s contributions to national development.

Delivering a message on behalf of H.E. Mahama, Mr. Ankrah conveyed the former president’s deep appreciation for the Bible Society’s enduring role in shaping Ghana’s moral and democratic values through Bible translation, distribution, and literacy.

President Mahama, in his message, reaffirmed his vision for a renewed Ghana, anchored in justice, compassion, and integrity.

These values, he noted, are at the heart of his Reset Agenda and the proposed #24HourEconomy policy aimed at transforming the country’s socioeconomic landscape.

“As President Mahama reminded us, true progress demands that Church, State, and Citizenry walk together in faith, truth, and service,” Ankrah wrote, emphasizing the former president’s belief in collaborative nation-building grounded in shared moral principles.

The event brought together religious leaders, dignitaries, and stakeholders from across the country to honour the Bible Society of Ghana’s six decades of impactful service and its continued commitment to national transformation through faith-based initiatives.
