The Chief of Ejura Divisional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has organized a free health screening exercise for hundreds of people in Ejura, Ashanti Region.
The event was held to mark the chief’s birth month, June, and was made possible through a collaboration between Akyama FM and ANISE Health Care Foundation.
Held on Saturday, July 12 21, 2025, at the forecourt of the Ejura Palace, the screening attracted over 200 individuals who received free medical check-ups and medications.
The event brought together a team of high-profile doctors and nurses who provided essential health services to the beneficiaries.
In a speech read on his behalf by a board member of Akyama FM, Okofo Asante, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II emphasized his unwavering support for his people.
He pledged to continue seeking the welfare of the people of Ejura and beyond, and urged the public to prioritize regular health check-ups to avoid complications.
The chief expressed gratitude to God for blessing him with another year of life.
The leader of the medical team, Dr. Angela Osei Mensah , noted that the screening was timely, as many of the beneficiaries had underlying health issues that were detected during the exercise.
The screening covered various health conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, hepatitis B, and eye problems.
Dr. Angela commended the Ejurahene for his kindness to his people and assured that the ANISE Health Care Foundation would continue to support Ejura in promoting a healthy community.
