What began as an ordinary weekend at the Edwenase Rehabilitation Center quickly turned into a moment of celebration and relief when the Kumi Yeboah Memorial Foundation arrived with a GH¢30,000 truckload of food and essential items, rescuing the center from looming festive-season hardship.

The donation, made on Saturday, 20th December 2025, brought renewed hope to more than 150 residents living with different forms of disability, many of whom face daily uncertainty over meals and basic care.

The life-changing consignment included bags of rice and sugar, assorted soft drinks, canned milk, cooking oil, detergents, toiletries, and boxes of biscuits; items described by management as “critical” to sustaining the center through the Christmas period.

Presenting the items, the foundation’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Shadrach Osei Bonsu, said the intervention reflected the true meaning of Christmas; sharing, compassion, and standing with the most vulnerable.

“This foundation was built on the belief that no one should be left behind. Giving to those in need is not optional for us; it is our mission,” he told journalists.
An overwhelmed Mr. Ofori Kwabena, House Master of the center, expressed heartfelt appreciation, noting that the facility constantly battles with feeding challenges due to the high number of residents under its care.
“With over 150 persons depending on us daily, support like this is not just helpful; it is lifesaving,” he said, while appealing to other organisations, philanthropists, and well-meaning Ghanaians to extend similar support.
