Dr. Bryan Acheampong, a leading contender in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race, has issued a strong call for unity, discipline, and elevated conduct as the party navigates its internal leadership contest.
In an official statement released yesterday, Tuesday, Dr. Acheampong acknowledged a wave of personal attacks and misinformation targeted at him, but maintained his commitment to a campaign rooted in integrity and vision.

“Yes, I have come under a barrage of attacks. Falsehoods have been spread about me… But through it all, I remain focused, not on retaliation, but on restoration,” he wrote.

The statement, titled “A Call to Unity and Discipline in Our Internal Contest,” emphasized the need for decency and mutual respect among party members, especially during this crucial electoral period. Dr. Acheampong urged his supporters to avoid inflammatory language, personal attacks, and the sharing of false or damaging materials.

“This is a contest of ideas, of leadership, and of vision,” he noted. “Let us not mirror the tactics we seek to rise above.”

Framing his campaign as more than just a bid for leadership, Dr. Acheampong described it as a movement to “unite and rebuild” the NPP. He called on all members to ensure their actions contribute positively to the party’s future.
“Let our words heal, not harm. Let our actions inspire, not inflame,” he stated. “Let our conduct reflect the future we are determined to lead.”
The appeal comes at a time when internal tensions and factionalism have raised concerns among party faithful and political observers. Dr. Acheampong’s message is being seen as a bid to calm the waters and reaffirm the values that have long guided the NPP.
As the party moves closer to selecting its next flagbearer, the tone and direction of the internal campaign will likely play a critical role in shaping its unity heading into the 2028 general elections.
