Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has met His Royal Highness Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister for Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Premised on an official invitation from the latter, Ghana’s Energy Minister Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh participated in the World Economic Forum’s Special Meeting in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Forum was on the theme “Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development”
The duo held discussions on potential collaboration in the energy sectors of the two countries in broader areas – Oil for Sustainability Programme, clean cooking initiatives as well as same within the power sector value chain.
At the meeting, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh expressed “Ghana’s unflinching readiness to partner the Kingdom in our quest at ensuring the energy security of our country within the overarching context of economic growth.
This visit, I believe will further deepen the frontiers of Ghana’s bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and I have no doubt, it will have far-reaching benefits for our energy future”.
