In a remarkable display of athletic prowess and teamwork, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has emerged as the overall champion at the 2025 Civil Service Games.
Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs, took to Facebook to commend his staff and host a celebratory and awards reception in their honour.

“With pride and pleasure, I hosted a celebratory and awards reception for Team Ministry of Foreign Affairs after our staff emerged overall winners at the 2025 Civil Service Games,” the Minister announced.

Team MFA secured an impressive haul of trophies across multiple disciplines, including football, tennis, arm wrestling, and table tennis. Individual accolades also flowed, with awards such as Most Valuable Players, Best Female Goalkeeper, Golden Boot, and Best Coach among the collection.

“It’s remarkable to have confirmation that besides diplomatic expertise, Ghana’s career diplomats have multiple talents, incredible versatility, amazing agility and infectious team spirit,” Hon. Ablakwa remarked, clearly proud of his team’s all-round excellence.

The games, an annual showcase of inter-ministerial athleticism and unity, have become a staple on Ghana’s public service calendar. This year’s edition saw fierce competition, but the MFA team stood out with a near sweep of major titles.
In his closing message, the Minister added: “Let’s keep winning for God and Country,” underscoring the deeper national pride behind the victory.
The triumph not only reflects physical strength but also reinforces the Ministry’s image as a dynamic, cohesive, and high-performing institution—on and off the diplomatic field.
