PRESS STATEMENT OF `LOYALTY ISN’T TRANSFERABLE´ BY DIEHARD SUPPORTERS OF KENNEDY OHENE AKOMPREKO AGYAPONG AT JUSTMOH CONFERENCE CENTER, KUMASI, ON MONDAY JULY 15, 2024

Ladies and Gentlemen of the inky fraternity gathered here today, I warmly welcome you on behalf of Diehard Supporters of Hon. Kennedy Akompreko Ohene Agyapong, home and abroad, to this all-important occasion.
We have called you here as journalists to help us send a simple message to the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that our loyalty to Hon. Ken is not transferable.

It would be recalled that during Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia’s campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, our beloved Hon. Kennedy Ohene Akompreko Agyapong, MP (Assin Central), joined the trail and rallied support for the Vice President’s candidature for the upcoming polls.

In fact, the man we believe represents a better future for our party and country, called on us, his supporters, to throw our weight behind the NPP flagbearer for a resounding victory come December 7.

In as much as we are all die- in-the-wool members of the NPP, we want to state categorically clear that our loyalty as Diehard Supporters of Hon. Ken is not transferable.

Though we do not have any qualms with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s decision to join the campaign trail of the Vice President in Kumasi recently, we want to state emphatically clear that we will only vote for the NPP with the celebrated business mogul as presidential candidate.

Therefore, we want to implore our members across the country and in the diaspora to remain committed to the pledge that we will only vote for the NPP with Hon. Kennedy Agyappong as flagbearer and that our loyalty is not transferable.

We still believe that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong is the surest bet to lead the NPP in cementing power to propel the nation for the economic redemption the country has been yearning for since Adam.

Our love and support for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong remain unchanged, so is our commitment to supporting a winnable and credible candidate to lead our great party and nation to the promised land.

What irritates us the most is the politically motivated demolition of an estate belonging to Mr. George Oti Bonsu, a bosom friend of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and a known NPP bankroller in Accra by the family of the Second Lady Samira Bawumia.

To soften our stance, we demand an immediate heartfelt appology and a sumptuous compensation package to Mr. Oti Bonsu for the unwarranted destruction of his property by apparatchiks of the Vice President and the family of the Second Lady.

It has evidently been established that Mr. Oti Bonsu’s multimillion dollar estate in Accra was blatantly demolished recently by the Second Lady’s family for political reasons.

It is evidently clear that the unwarranted demolition was politically motivated because of Mr. Oti Bonsu’s long acquaintance and support for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong during the NPP presidential primaries.

How can a man of the caliber of Mr. Oti Bonsu, who has supported our party through thick and thin over the years be made to lose his hard-earned investments in such a typical political persecution style by his own party?

Have we so soon forgotten about the selfless support of Mr. Oti Bonsu in terms of finances and logistics to Hon. Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Former Majority Leader in Parliament and MP of Suame?

What about the legendary support Mr. Oti Bonsu provided to constituencies such as Sege, Ejura-Sekedumase and Tafo which made us win and retain the seats with wide margins?

We are extremely disappointed that the party that has a history of recognizing contributors, has now given a platform for people connected to power to persecute their perceived enemies.

If the perpetrators of this heinous crime have any dignity left in them, they should immediately apologize to Mr. Oti Bonsu and adequately compensate him before entreating us to vote for their candidate in the upcoming presidential elections.

We urge our vociferous supporters across the globe to remain calm as any change in position will be officially communicated to them.

Long live Hon.Kennedy Agyappong.
Long live Diehard Supporters of Ken (Home and Abroad)
Long live Ghana, our Motherland.
