The Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Gyamfi, served as the Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony of the Challenges Annual Forum 2025, held at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in Accra.

The prestigious three-day event, taking place from Tuesday, October 14 to Thursday, October 16, 2025, is being held under the theme: “Adapt and Advance: Renewing the Impact of Peace Operations.”

The forum convenes leading peacekeeping practitioners, policy experts, and academics from around the world for high-level dialogue on the future of international peace operations.

In his remarks, Hon. Gyamfi emphasized the critical need for adaptability in peace operations in light of evolving global threats and complex conflict environments.

He commended KAIPTC and its partners for sustaining this important platform for constructive engagement and innovation in peacebuilding.

“This forum underscores Ghana’s continued commitment to promoting international peace and security,” he said.

“As threats become more asymmetric and multifaceted, peace operations must remain agile, inclusive, and impactful.”

The Challenges Annual Forum serves as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and the exploration of forward-thinking strategies to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of peacekeeping missions.

Participants will engage in thematic sessions focused on innovation, collaboration, and the strategic renewal of peace operations in today’s security landscape.
