Former Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah a.k.a COKA has condoled members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Ghana following the death of legendary singer and composer, Akuamoah Osei Boateng.
Osei Boateng, known for composing hit songs such as “Yes Ka Woho”, Okwantufuo among others had a successful music career spanning over 50 years.
Scribbling his condolence on his official Facebook page, COKA wished the legend to rest well.
“Seventh Day Adventist Church and Ghana have lost a legend aged 70 years.
Mr Osei Boateng, an Adventist, a composer, gospel musician, and a songwriter, has visited our ancestors at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He has written many songs, and my favorites are ‘Yesu ka woho’ and ‘Anwanwasem Besisi’.
My condolences to all Seventh Day Adventist Church members and his family.
Till we meet again, rest well, legend. Coka, l care”, he scribbled.
The deceased known to have nurtured and trained several talents in the SDA Church and those outside the Church gave up the ghost at the Accident and Emergency Centre of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Saturday, April 6, 2024, where he was on admission for about a week.
