The Bantama MP set tongues wagging and stomachs rumbling after declaring his love for the legendary food joint in a Facebook post that celebrated both taste and tradition.
“For over 50 years, this legendary spot has been serving the same unforgettable taste; and to me, it remains the best Waakye joint in the world,” the MP wrote passionately.
Known across Kumasi for its long queues and signature aroma, the Mango Down Waakye has been a culinary landmark in Bantama for decades.
Locals say it’s more than just a food joint. It’s a piece of community history.
Asenso-Boakye’s glowing endorsement came shortly after a busy morning of public service, where he presented mono desks, tables, and chairs to schools across the Bantama constituency to improve classroom conditions.
After completing his official duties, he joined friends for lunch at the famous spot and couldn’t resist sharing the experience with his followers online.
