Business mogul, Mr. Ignatius Oppong has been made the Gyaasehene for Esumija Traditional Council of the Asante Bekwai constitutency.

He has become the occupant of the prestigious traditional office after swearing an oath of allegiance to and before the Paramount Chief of Esumija, Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntrama on Thursday, 17th April, 2025.

 

Mr. Ignatius Oppong now bears the stool name, Osaagyefo Nana Kofi Oppong.

The businessman’s historic coronation which was held at the palace of the Paramount Chief turned brought together Chiefs, Queen mothers, dignitaries and well-wishers to celebrate his ascension.

He took over from Osaagyefo Nana Twumasi , his predecessor and former Gyaasehene of the Esumija Traditional Council.

During the coronation, the Paramount Chief admonished him to emulate the good steps of his predecessors and showcase a high sense of commitment and passion in his service to the community and traditional leaders.

He charged that, with the role entrusted to him, much is expected from him since the day-to-day running of the affairs of the community muchly depends on his position.

He encouraged him to serve well to earn him a good name and bring glory to the people of Esumija.

Addressing newsmen after the coronation, Nana Kofi Oppong thanked the Paramount Chief and people for the honor done to him.

The businesman-turned-traditional leader pledged not to let the community down and assured to offer his utmost with all humility for the progress of the council and people in the area.

Nana Kofi Oppong advised youth of the community and by extension Ghana to exercise humility and courtesy towards the elderly.

“Doing this will take you to many great places in life”, he indicated.
