NPP flagbearer hopeful Dr. Bryan Acheampong has pledged to run a clean and issues-based campaign in the lead-up to the party’s 2026 presidential primaries, reaffirming his commitment to disciplined leadership and unity.

In a statement shared via his official Facebook page on Sunday, October 21, Dr. Acheampong expressed gratitude to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo following a private meeting between the two held earlier that day.

“I’m grateful to the former President, Nana Akufo-Addo, for the warm reception and wise counsel during our meeting this morning. His legacy of service and statesmanship continues to inspire us all,” the statement read.

Dr. Acheampong, who served as the Minister for Food and Agriculture and still Member of Parliament for Abetifi, used the opportunity to set a clear tone for his campaign; one focused on vision and values rather than personal attacks.

“As we press forward, I want to reassure the party and the nation: we are committed to running a clean, respectful, and issues-based campaign. No insults. No distractions. Just vision, values, and hard work,” he said.

He also called on his supporters to uphold these same principles, urging them to “lead by example” as the internal contest for the party’s leadership intensifies.

The statement, tagged with hashtags such as #LeadershipWithIntegrity, #UnityAndProgress, and #TogetherWeWin, signals a disciplined and inclusive campaign approach as the NPP prepares for what is expected to be a keenly contested 2026 primary.

Dr. Acheampong’s message has been positively received by sections of the public and party faithful who are eager to see a more civil and policy-driven political discourse ahead of the 2028 general elections.
