Dr. Bryan Acheampong, 2028 flagbearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has donated a modern Depth Finder device to the Volta Lake Transport Company (VLTC) as part of efforts to enhance maritime safety and improve transport efficiency on the lake.

The donation, which was announced by him via his official Facebook page, comes during his ongoing tour of communities across the Eastern Region.
The gesture forms part of his broader agenda to strengthen infrastructure and logistics in sectors critical to national development.

“As part of my tour and interactions with various communities across the Eastern Region, I presented a Depth Finder device to the Volta Lake Transport Company to support safer navigation and more efficient operations on the lake,” he stated.
He emphasized that the Volta Lake plays a vital role in transport and trade for thousands of Ghanaians, and investing in its operational safety is key to sustaining livelihoods and boosting economic growth.
“I am confident this modern device will help improve safety, boost efficiency, and reduce risks for the hardworking men and women who rely on the Volta Lake for transport and trade,” Dr. Acheampong added.
The Depth Finder device will assist VLTC vessels in accurately measuring water depth, helping to avoid accidents, improve navigation, and enhance the overall reliability of lake transport services.
The initiative has been welcomed by local stakeholders, who described it as a timely intervention for one of the country’s most important inland waterways.
Dr. Acheampong, a former Minister of Food and Agriculture and current Member of Parliament for Abetifi, continues to position himself as a development-focused leader ahead of the NPP’s 2028 flagbearership race.
