The Bosomtwe STEM Academy was kicked out the ongoing Basic Schools Assessment Competition at the semi-final stage.
They placed last after scoring 241 in the contest.
Queen Namies Montessori School was also evicted after placing 6th with 243 points.
Per the overall results;
- Unique Educational Complex placed 1st with 281 points
- Legacy International School 2nd with 277 points
- Salvation Army Basic School A&B 3rd with 276 points
- Reverence Preparatory School 4th with 268 points
- Eldia Montessori School 5th with 261 points.
The semi-final stage of the assessment competition was held on Friday, 4th October, 2024 at GNAT, Kumasi.
The Initiative is organised by Perfect Star Media Production, through a collaboration with Perfect Grade Publications and Stationery.
All schools that placed 1st to 5th positions are marked as the ones qualified to partake in the grand final stage, scheduled for 10th October, 2024.
Addressing the media after the competition, CEO for Perfect Grade Publications underscored points scored by participating school during the semi-final stage as a “wonderful performance”.
By contrast, he said the top score at the first elimination stage was around 230 whereas that of the semi-final stage was 241.
“So now we have the least score for the semi-final stage greater than the highest score gained at the first elimination stage. I see this as an improvement in performance”.
Gaston Dozie Dickson, a teacher at Unique Educational Complex told newsmen that perseverance and hardwork are what earned the school a first position in the semi-final stage.
He expressed that, his school is determined to win in the upcoming grand final stage.
“Our children are well prepared to grab victory in the upcoming final stage”.
