156 youth of Subin Constituency who were enrolled unto the Business In A Box (BizBox) project have received their share of start-up tools after successfully completing training in Vocational and technical skills.
The items were presented to them on Wednesday, 30th October, 2024 at the Kumasi Jubilee Park through the able facilitation of the NPP parliamentary candidate for the area, Lawyer Kofi Obiri Yeboah.
Under the project, beneficiaries were trained in areas such as hairdressing, dressmaking, carpentry, auto electricals, general electricals, auto mechanic, fashion design, electric welding, aluminum fabrication etc.
BizBox project is a partnership between the MasterCard Foundation and Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).
The goal of the 4-year project as announced by the Ashanti regional manager for Ghana Enterprise Agency, Mr. Eric Nyarko is to create dignified and fulfilling jobs for 250,000 young people in Ghana, with 70% being women and 10% Persons with Disabilities by 2027.
Before doing his side of presentation of some of the tools to beneficiaries, the parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Kofi Obiri Yeboah said in his address that the welfare of youth of Subin is his heartbeat, and for that reason will ensure that they are given every employment or entrepreneurship support they deserve.
He indicated that even before surfacing to contest for the parliamentary seat, he has been lobbying tirelessly to support youth and residents as part of his efforts aimed at salvaging them from challenges confronting them.
The renowned legal practitioner said the foregoing mirrors the good thought he has for the people of Subin, assuring that his developmental support for residents of Subin will be in the multiple form when he is elected into office as the Member of Parliament.
He therefore called on electorates to vote massively for him and the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
