Officials at the Ashanti Regional Tourism Authority have awarded a selected number of enterprises and stakeholders for their exceptional contribution towards the development of the tourism industry in the region.
It happened on Friday, 20th September, 2024.
Theme for the event was “Celebrating Innovation and Recognizing Excellence in Ghana’s Tourism Sector”.
26 competitive and 9 honorary awards were given at the event.
The honorary awards were earned by institutions that have invested in the tourism industry over the years.
Top Awards
Lancaster Hotel was honored as the Best 4 Star Hotel in the region.
Golden Bean Hotel (named the Best 3 Star Hotel), Barika Hotel (Best 1 Star Hotel), Cofkans Hotel (Best 2 Star Hotel) and Eugenmat Travel and Tour (Best Travel and Tour facility).

Addressing the occasion, the Regional Director for Ghana Tourism Authority, Frederick Adjei-Rudolph said his vision is to make the award scheme an enviable brand so that the corporate world in Ashanti region and beyond will be proud to be associated with.
He therefore called on all players in the industry to come onboard whenever they are called upon to assist and also challenged them to take charge of the award scheme to make it big in the subsequent years.
In his admonision, he urged players to be mindful of the need to constantly abide by regulations governing the operations of all tourism and hospitality establishments in Ghana.
Frederick Adjei-Rudolph also urged them to embrace an enhanced security, culture of cleanliness and regular maintenance of their facility and also invest in professional staff that can deliver exceptional services to clients.
The forgoing according to him will keep them afloat and sustain their relevance in the industry.
