The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, on Tuesday welcomed Ghanaian music icon and multiple award-winning rapper Sarkodie at his office in Kumasi ahead of the highly anticipated “Rapperholic: The Homecoming” concert.

The visit was part of the artist’s courtesy call to officially invite the Minister to the event, scheduled for September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Dr. Amoakohene described the meeting as a “fruitful discussion,” during which both parties engaged on key issues concerning security arrangements for the event and broader efforts to support emerging artists in the Ashanti Region and across the country.

“Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to nurturing creativity, ensuring public safety, and promoting the arts as a vital part of our national identity and economic growth,” the Minister stated.

Sarkodie’s “Rapperholic” concert series, which has grown into one of Ghana’s premier musical showcases, is making its first-ever stop in Kumasi; a move that has been widely praised as a celebration of the region’s deep-rooted cultural and musical heritage.

The concert is expected to draw thousands of fans from across Ghana and the diaspora, with performances from top-tier artists and rising stars.

Authorities have assured the public of adequate security measures and smooth coordination with event organizers to ensure a successful and incident-free event.
