The Ashanti Regional Caucus of the Association of Health Service Administrators, Ghana [AHSAG] held a three day Continuous Professional Education/Retreat for all Health Service Administrators and Hospital Administrators from the various agencies within the region.
The CPE/Retreat was held from 23rd to 25th July, 2024 at Yegoala Hotel, Kumasi.
Participants included Health Service Administrators, Hospital Administrators, retired Directors and Deputy Directors as well current Directors and Deputy Directors in the region.
Facilitators included the National Council Chair, AHSAG and retired Director- SSDM, Ghana Health Service, Dr. Addai-Donkoh, who took participants through Supply Chain Management; Mr. Asare Bediako Micah, Deputy Director, Administration [DDA], Ashanti, who enlightened members on General Administrative Practices and Procedures as well as Plans and Budgets.
Mr. Fred Effah-Yeboah, Director of Administration at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, also took members through conflict management while retired DDA, Mr. Yaw Boamah briefed participants on how to plan towards their retirement.
At the opening session, the Regional Director of Health Service, Ashanti, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang, who was the guest speaker, called on Health Service Administrators and Hospital Administrators to fully focus on building their capacities to improve quality healthcare delivery.
Participants were in high spirits after the training and were grateful to the organizers for such an insight which will shape them in governance, administration, leadership and also in their everyday lives.
