Nkosuohene for Nkawie Kumaa, Nana Asare Bediatuo has called on the Ministry of Education to heighten measures aimed at bridging the cultural gap caused by the introduction of western education.

His called is premised on the disregard of Ghana’s rich culture and traditional values by a number of Ghanaian youth, explaining that the interest of a great number of youth has tilted towards the culture of the western world.

The above according to him has influenced their failure to appreciate the culture of the land of their origin.

Taking cue from the culmination of the 25th anniversary of His Majesty, Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, he said that the rich display of Asante’s rich culture which characterised the event should challenge the Ministry of education.

Reflecting on the number of foreign diplomats plus renowned personalities in diaspora who turned at the event not only to witness the grandeur of the reign of the Asantehene but to also learn Asante’s culture, he said it’s high time the Ministry used education as a medium that will put to flare the passion of Ghanaian youth for the culture of their land.

In his remarks, he described the Asantehene’s 25th anniversary as unprecedented.

“This is the grandest event I’ve ever seen since I became I Chief”.
