As preparations intensify for the funeral and burial rites of the late Asantehemaa, the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) has announced a series of measures to ensure decorum, security, and cultural reverence throughout the period of observance.

In a public statement issued today by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Council outlined protocols for essential government workers and institutions operating within the region during this solemn occasion.

“These directives are in line with instructions from the Manhyia Palace and form part of efforts to support a smooth and dignified farewell to the late Queen Mother,” Dr. Amoakohene stated.
Orderly Conduct and Identity Verification

The Minister emphasized the need for all essential government workers to be clearly identifiable. Workers must report to duty in official uniforms and carry valid identification cards at all times.
Use of Government Vehicles to Ease Monitoring
Essential workers are also encouraged to use government-assigned vehicles, where available, to enhance coordination and monitoring of movement during restricted periods.
Cooperation with Security Agencies
With security expected to be tight, the Regional Minister called for maximum cooperation from all exempted institutions and essential personnel. He urged them to comply with directives from law enforcement and regulatory bodies, especially in areas where movement restrictions are being enforced.
“These are not ordinary times for the region. We must all play our part to preserve the solemnity and dignity of the rites,” Dr. Amoakohene noted.
The funeral of the late Asantehemaa is a significant cultural event, expected to draw traditional leaders, dignitaries, and mourners from across Ghana and beyond. The Regional Minister assured the public that all necessary arrangements are being made to maintain peace, order, and cultural respect during this historic occasion.
