

Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Minister for Food and Agriculture and presidential aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has joined the nation in mourning the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The revered Queen Mother’s death was formally announced during a solemn sitting of the Asanteman Council held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.


In a heartfelt message addressed to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II through a press release, Dr. Acheampong described the late Queen Mother as “a towering symbol of grace, wisdom, and cultural continuity,” whose leadership and service to the Ashanti Kingdom left an indelible mark on Ghana’s traditional and national identity.

“Nana Konadu Yiadom III nurtured unity, upheld dignity, and served as a custodian of our cherished heritage,” he remarked. “Her passing marks a solemn moment in our national history. Ghana mourns with Asanteman.”


Dr. Acheampong extended his deepest condolences to the Asantehene, the royal family, and the people of Asanteman, offering prayers for strength and divine comfort during this time of mourning.


He concluded by noting that the legacy of Nana Konadu Yiadom III will endure as a beacon of leadership and love for future generations.
