Minority Leader in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has extended his congratulations to the five presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who have successfully filed their nominations to contest in the party’s upcoming flagbearer race.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Afenyo-Markin described the submission of nomination forms as a “significant step” in the strengthening of the party’s democratic processes and traditions.

“I extend my warm congratulations to all the 5 presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom) who have successfully filed and submitted their nomination forms,” he wrote. “This is an important step in deepening our internal democracy and strengthening the party’s traditions.”

As the NPP gears up for what is expected to be a crucial internal election, the Minority Leader called on all aspirants and their supporters to uphold the values of unity, mutual respect, and decorum in their campaigns.

“Let us avoid divisive tendencies and remain focused on the bigger goal of building a stronger NPP and advancing our national development,” he urged.

Reaffirming his belief in the strength of the party, Afenyo-Markin ended his message with a rallying cry: “Indeed, the ELEPHANT is a winning symbol!”

The NPP is expected to hold its presidential primaries in the coming months as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
