The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (A.M.A.) has revised the operational hours for street loading and offloading, announcing that effective Monday, June 16, 2025, such activities will only be permitted between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. daily as part of its intensified decongestion enforcement measures.

According to the Assembly, any vehicle found loading or offloading goods outside the designated hours would be towed at the owner’s expense, and the offenders would be prosecuted at the A.M.A. Sanitation Court.

Head of Public Affairs Unit at the AMA, Gilbert Nii Ankrah disclosed that the new time frame was intended to reduce congestion during business hours and protect the safety of pedestrians and traders, adding that anyone who flouts it would face immediate towing and legal action.

He pointed out that to ensure maximum public awareness, the A.M.A.’s Information Services Department (ISD) Unit had deployed a mobile van to make regular public announcements throughout the city in English and local languages.
