The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has presented a set of MTN mobile money vending start-up tools and GH₵3,000 working capital to Ms. Hilda Doodo, a physically challenged woman, to support her in establishing a sustainable source of income.

The presentation formed part of the government’s vision to empower not only able-bodied citizens but also the physically challenged and other vulnerable groups.

Accompanying the Mayor to present the working tools, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, commended Mayor Allotey for his commitment to inclusive economic empowerment.

She urged Ms. Doodo to be committed to her business and work diligently to make it profitable so that the Assembly could extend further assistance to expand her operations.
She was hopeful that the support would multiply and yield significant benefits, urging her to work hard to turn her small beginnings into bigger opportunities.

The Mayor of Accra, in a remark, noted that it was the desire of the President to provide women, especially the physically challenged, with the necessary tools and resources to improve their livelihoods, adding that the donation was expected to help Ms. Doodo gain financial independence.
