The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has cleared traders operating in front of the VIP and OA transport terminals at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange as part of ongoing efforts to reduce congestion and maintain order in the area.
The exercise, conducted on Tuesday, was led by the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey. He was accompanied by a joint task force consisting of city guards, environmental health officers, and officers from the Ghana Police Service.

Speaking to the media during the operation, Mayor Allotey emphasized that the Assembly would no longer tolerate unauthorized trading around one of the capital’s busiest transportation hubs. He also cautioned that anyone who defies the directive would be arrested.
