A Kumasi-based clergyman, Prophet Sarpong See, has prophesied that popular Ghanaian social media influencer Abu Trica, known in private life as Frederick Kumi, will be released despite his recent re-arrest.

Abu Trica was arrested in connection with alleged involvement in an orchestrated romance scam.

He was re-arrested on Monday, 26th January 2026, shortly after the High Court struck out his application for certiorari, which sought to challenge proceedings at the Gebese District Court.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Silver FM on 25th January, 2026, Prophet Sarpong See, Founder and Leader of the Prayer-Seat Prophetic Church,  made a statement ahead of his discharge and re-arrest that Abu Trica was going to be released, expressing confidence that the influencer would regain his freedom.

Abu Trica’s first release before his re-arrest has been hailed as a confirmation of the prophetic declaration by the clergyman.

In a recorded video of the interview that has gone viral on a number of social media platforms, the Prophet mentioned clearly that, the current legal challenges facing Abu Trica would soon come to an end.

However, Prophet Sarpong issued a strong caution, advising the influencer to exercise extreme care after his release.

He claimed, in what he described as a prophetic revelation, that Abu Trica’s arrest was facilitated by someone very close to him.

The clergyman who last year prophesied that a torrential rain will destruct funeral of the late Ghanaian music icon Daddy Lumba, further advised that upon regaining his freedom, Abu Trica should be vigilant and cautious of individuals within his immediate circle, stressing the need for discernment moving forward.

Meanwhile, legal proceedings involving Abu Trica are ongoing, and authorities have yet to make any further official statements on the matter.
