A Two-Day Working Visit To Eastern Region; Hon. Asenso-Boakye Writes
Yesterday (Wednesday, 16th May, 2024), joined by the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong and some Members of Parliament from the region, I commenced a Two-day working visit to the Eastern region to assess the condition of the road network and also inspect ongoing projects. We visited several project sites, including:
• Akuse junction – Somanya Road (6.5km) undergoing asphaltic concrete overlay. Additionally, at Akuse, a modular composite steel bridge, which is completed and is ready for commissioning.
• Nkurakan – Adukrom – Trom Junction Roads (36.1km), currently at 96% completion and scheduled for completion by August this year.
• Koforidua – Asesewa – Abourso Road (65.2km) at 62% completion.
• Somanya – Kpong Road, set to commence construction soon.
• Begoro Town roads/Begoro-Ehiamenkyene-Bepoase road, highlighting the urgent need for attention, particularly the Begoro-Ehiamenkyene-Bepoase road.
• Addressed a durbar of chiefs and people at Dorminase, Fanteakwa North District, reassuring them of the government’s commitment to completion the projects in the area.
• Larteh Junction – Mamfe road where construction is underway.
• Akyem Tafo, where construction of town roads is underway.
• Koforidua Town Roads, including Abogri, and Simpoamiensa area road, and Ada Magazine area roads, where I engaged with local artisans.
I am happy to observe that contractors are actively working on site, and road construction across various parts of the region is advancing well.
Today, I aim to continue my visit to other parts of the region to gain firsthand insights into the road situation in the region.
