Queen mothers of the various trade groups in Kumasi have applauded President John Dramani Mahama for taking decisive actions since he assumed power.
They have asserted that within the first five months of Mahama’s administration, bold steps by him vis-a-vis the appointment of Dr. Frank Amoakohene as Ashanti regional Minister and Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi a.k.a Zuba as the Kumasi City Mayor has brought great relieve to traders and people in the region.
Citing the restructuring of the Kejetia Market Management by the city Mayor, they mentioned that traders no more experience the hassles they faced under the past government.
Per their assertion, the performance delivery of the duo has unleashed tangible, measurable and significant level of progress within the metropolis and the regions by extension.
Addressing newsmen at Kejetia in the early hours of Tuesday, the Queen mothers said per the modicum of progress witnessed under the administration of the current Regional Minister and the City Mayor, they are optimistic that much development will be seen in the region in some few years to come.
Grace Adjei Darko, Queen mother of dry fish sellers praised the wife of President Mahama, first Lady Lordina Mahama, saying her wise counsel to her husband is what fueled the appointment of the Dr. Frank Amoakohene and Zuba.
She labelled Mrs. Lordina Mahama as the backbone of the President, explaining that her encouragement and advise are the propeller of the many successes achieved by President Mahama in his administration.
She underlined that as traders in Kumasi, they have so much hope in President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC, and believe that President Mahama be able to complete the phase-2 of the Kejetia-Central market redevelopment project.
They however pleaded on the president to fast track the completion the krofrom market and fix roads that are in a deplorable state in the region.
At the press briefing, they pledged to offer their maximum support to retain the NDC government in power. developmental progress will be seen in the region in some few years to come.
