The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations has commenced preparations for the rollout of the Girls-In-ICT Programme in the Upper West Region.
An inception meeting, scheduled for Monday, August 18, 2025, will bring together key stakeholders, including the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), and the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council (RCC).
The meeting will provide a platform for deliberations on strategies, timelines, and logistical arrangements to ensure the successful implementation of the programme, which aims to equip young girls with digital skills, inspire careers in the ICT sector, and bridge the gender digital divide.
The Girls-In-ICT Programme, a flagship initiative of the Ministry, has already trained thousands of girls across several regions, empowering them with the knowledge and confidence to participate in Ghana’s growing digital economy.
