ARB Apex Bank PLC has announced the successful completion of a landmark technology integration and cybersecurity enhancement project, marking significant progress in its digital transformation agenda. The announcement was made by Mr. Alex Kwasi Awuah, Managing Director of the Bank, during the institution’s 23rd Annual General Meeting held in Kumasi.

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the rural banking sector’s technological backbone, ARB Apex Bank has fully migrated to the RCBs T24 Core Banking Application platform. The project, which aimed to unify the core banking system across the Bank and its member Rural and Community Banks (RCBs), has been successfully concluded.

This migration establishes a common and modern core banking infrastructure that enhances integration efficiency, reduces operational costs, and streamlines vendor relationships under a single contract.

It represents a major step in strengthening the digital capacity of the entire rural banking ecosystem.
In addition to the core banking upgrade, ARB Apex Bank has made notable strides in enhancing its cybersecurity infrastructure.

In the 2024 financial year, the Bank achieved certification in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a globally recognized benchmark for securing cardholder data and electronic payment systems.
“This certification followed a rigorous audit of our systems, policies, and controls related to card payment processing,” Mr. Awuah noted.
It underscores the Bank’s unwavering commitment to protecting customer information and aligning with international best practices.
Furthermore, the Bank successfully completed the recertification of its Information Security Management System (ISMS) under the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard.
The recertification process involved an in-depth review of the Bank’s risk management framework, business continuity planning, and internal control systems.
These achievements not only reflect ARB Apex Bank’s strategic focus on cybersecurity and operational resilience but also position it to meet increasingly complex regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
With these developments, ARB Apex Bank reinforces its role as the central institution supporting Ghana’s network of Rural and Community Banks, paving the way for enhanced service delivery, improved financial inclusion, and a robust digital future for the sector.
