MTN Ghana’s PMO was lauded for its strategic alignment, consistent value delivery, and focus on benefits-driven project execution. The team met all key targets, demonstrating strong execution capabilities, effective governance, and an unwavering commitment to advancing the company’s strategic objectives.

In total, MTN Ghana received four major awards, further cementing its reputation as a leader in innovative project delivery:

  • Telecom Company Project of the Year – NextGen MoMo App
  • Project Manager of the Year (1st Runner-Up) – Selorm Kove
  • Project of the Year (2nd Runner-Up) – The Massive-MIMO Technology Project

Driving Fintech Innovation: NextGen MoMo App

The NextGen MoMo App, which won the Telecom Company Project of the Year, is a standout example of MTN Ghana’s commitment to digital transformation. As a flagship fintech initiative, the app underpins MTN’s four key technology strategy pillars: Platforms, Ecosystems & Services; Agile Operating Model; Connectivity & Monetization of Infrastructure; and Customer Experience (PACE).

With features such as biometric authentication, QR payments, phonebook-based transfers, utility bill payment, and digital lending, the app redefines mobile money as a holistic financial platform—contributing to increased customer engagement, revenue growth, and digital inclusion.

Recognizing Project Leadership: Selorm Kove

Selorm Kove, named 1st Runner-Up for Project Manager of the Year, was recognized for his exceptional leadership on the Massive-MIMO Project. He introduced agile methodologies that improved stakeholder collaboration, accelerated project timelines, and enhanced execution predictability. His data-driven approach, including the development of a real-time performance tracker, significantly improved delivery outcomes and reduced delays.

Elevating Connectivity: The Massive-MIMO Project

Awarded 2nd Runner-Up for Project of the Year, the Massive-MIMO Project is enhancing network capacity and speed across ten regions, including Greater Accra and Ashanti. By optimizing existing 4G infrastructure with minimal hardware changes, the project increased data speeds by up to eight times in high-traffic areas—without the need for new site construction. It supports MTN Ghana’s Ambition 2025 strategy by improving scalability and network quality.
