I Didn’t Attain Success By Luck or Chance-Dr. Daniel Mckorley Writes

Many people like to think and believe that I have “made it.” And I can’t deny that I have been successful in numerous ways.

However, I didn’t reach this point merely by luck or chance.

While luck and opportunities have played a significant role in my journey, I also faced rejection, dismissal, and disregard more times than you could ever imagine.

I often say that I did not inherit wealth; I inherited struggle.

From selling items on the streets to founding one of Ghana’s most diversified groups, my journey has not been one of privilege but of perseverance, purpose, and pain. At every stage, I had to learn quickly, adapt swiftly, and fail forward.

This is what entrepreneurship entails — it compels you to build your capacity under pressure and to become resilient not through theory, but out of necessity.

Today, the McDan Group spans aviation, logistics, salt production, real estate, and agribusiness. Yet, our greatest achievement is not our profits — it is our people, our impact, and the example and legacy we leave for the next generation.

That is why I consistently say this to entrepreneurs… if you’re working on something you believe in (which I hope you are), focus and keep going. The faith you have in your work and in yourself will sustain you. Whatever effort you invest in your long-term goals can yield results, yet consistency is key; you must put in the work to reap the rewards.

It might feel impossible at times, but do not allow self-sabotage and overthinking to convince you that you can’t. There is simply no way to know whether the work you do will bring the success you desire or make an impact.

However, you’re giving yourself the best chance to succeed by cultivating a solid work ethic, maintaining a positive attitude, acquiring the right skills, and developing resilience.
