Sierra Leone’s 1st Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio Writes
Today was no ordinary day; it was the birthday of the man who holds my heart, my husband, my everything.
I stood beside him at the Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium, not just as his wife but as his proudest supporter.
As I looked into his eyes, I saw not just the President of Sierra Leone but the man who has walked every step of this journey with me, steadfast, loving, and true.
Every day with him has been a blessing, but today, as we mark his 61st year, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the depth of love we share.
I’ve watched him rise in the early hours of the morning, giving himself wholly to the service of this nation and our family.
He is the calm in every storm, the laughter that lights up our home, and the heartbeat of everything I hold dear.
As I stood there today reading that message aloud, I felt every word echo in my chest.
He has loved me fiercely and gently, seen me at my highest and lowest, and never once wavered.
So today, I celebrate not just the man he is to the world but the man he is to me, a man whose love has been the greatest gift of my life.
